Instead of just having a sword and a dagger, the ability to buy and upgrade weapons, to save for the next one, is great! Plus the ability to upgrade the Villa (Sort of home town) in order to gain more revenue is good as. The Combat system remains largely unchanged, but larger scale of enemy difficulties makes for some more challenging and often more enjoyable fights. And the events that are taking place interest you and draw you in. There is more to do, and a wider, more diverse range of directions to go, so it is not the same things over and over again. The story, FANTASTIC, and WAY better than Assassins creed 1. The Free running, excellent, some tweaks made to improve it, and endless fun to be had.

I am rating this purely on the game itself, not the Ubisoft DRM (which i didn't need to worry about because i cracked the game). Pick up my sci-fi novels the Herokiller series, and The Earthborn Trilogy, which is also on audiobook. Subscribe to my free weekly content round-up newsletter, God Rolls. With Assassin’s Creed Infinity, how do you retain the core of the series as a sprawling, mostly single player RPG while also following the model of mostly free content expansions bolstered by mass spending on microtransactions? And a gacha Assassin’s Creed game? I mean, come on. I suppose you have a game like Genshin Impact, which is live service and mostly single player, but that draws money from its massively profitable gacha system. I would imagine encouraging purchases in a single player Assassin’s Creed game would be a bit more difficult.

Fortnite and GTA Online are both built around that core, and you buy skins and cars and things in those games in part to show off to other players. I do wonder how the game will handle multiplayer, as that’s a pretty core aspect of most current live service games, and something Assassin’s Creed has only dabbled in previously. Games like these are sprawling in scope, and Infinity is even bigger than the already massive existing AC games, from the sound of it, and could easily go awry. Veering into total live service territory is something of a risk.
